Founded in 2003, Longbow started off as a provider of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) to the Rail industry in Malaysia, where it had successes with KTM Bhd. and ERL. The AFC developed for ERL was the first solution to be fully developed in Malaysia using the latest Mifare Plus smartcard technologies and is still in operation today.

Over the years, Longbow has combined strong technical expertise with a solid grasp of customer needs, creating IT solutions that are functional, yet attractive and intuitive to use.

For the past 5 years, Longbow has also established itself as one of the major players in the selfservice industry in Malaysia. In particular, Longbow has researched, developed and implemented self-service kiosks for Touch-N-Go, TGV Cinemas, KFC, various local councils in Selangor and KL, building management companies, tourist attractions, etc.

Most of the self-service solutions designed by Longbow incorporate a large touch-screen complemented by a user-friendly user interface, making them extremely easy to use. The kiosks also utilize high quality cash handling components that can withstand heavy use, ensuring up time and reducing maintenance downtime. Last but not least, Longbow also developed its own remote monitoring and management software, allowing it to monitor its customers’ kiosks in realtime. This software, known as the Central Management System, also allows Longbow to easily set parameter changes for each kiosk, generate management reports, recover erroneous transactions, etc.

Longbow has also ventured into developing ticketing systems, working in particular with tourism providers. Some success story highlights include the full suite of ticketing system for Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge, and ticketing kiosks and agent ticketing portal for Menara KL. Zoo Negara, Petronas Philharmornic Orchestra and Petronas Discovery Centre also depends on the ticketing solutions developed by Longbow for their daily operations.
